Grand Canyon is a 8 to 9 hour drive from Palo Alto, California and a 3 to 5 hour drive from Las Vegas, depending upon the choice of rim you want to visit. The west rim of the Grand Canyon is nearer to Vegas and hence, one can go and come back in a 6 hour total drive and spend a minimum of 3 hours at the Canyon.
